Ovacık
A quiet village uphill from Ölüdeniz, Ovacık is the launch point for paragliders and the start of the Lycian Way. The village itself is free to explore, with cafes and mountain views.
Ovacık sits on the mountainside above Ölüdeniz, just a 10-minute drive inland. Most visitors pass through here to reach the Babadağ cable car and paragliding take-off sites, but the village itself has a calm, local rhythm. It’s a good spot for a cheap breakfast before heading up the mountain or to stretch your legs on a section of the Lycian Way that starts right here.
Don’t expect big sights — Ovacık is about the view and the air. The main road is lined with a few pensions, small markets, and gözleme stalls. It’s also a popular base for hikers doing multi-day treks because accommodation is cheaper than down by the beach. If you’re not flying, a walk through the back streets shows you a slower pace of life, with gardens and goat bells.

Buy gözleme and tea from the small stalls near the mosque before your flight — cheaper and better than the cable car cafe.
