Gümüşlük
A whitewashed fishing village on Bodrum's west coast, with sunken ancient Myndos walls visible in the shallows.
Gümüşlük grew around the harbour of ancient Myndos, and Roman harbour walls still break the surface at low tide near Rabbit Island (Tavşan Adası), reachable by a shallow sandbar. The waterfront is lined with fish restaurants that grill the morning catch; tables sit almost on the water. It is quieter than central Bodrum and popular for sunset dinners and lazy afternoons.
“For fresh fish by the water and ancient harbour stones you can wade out to at low tide.”
Walk the sandbar to Rabbit Island only when the tide is low; sunset tables fill fast in summer — reserve or arrive early.
Flat waterfront promenade; sandbar to the island is uneven and tide-dependent.
