Göcek isn't a single landmark but a small, prosperous town on a deep natural bay. Its heart is the marina — a parade of gleaming wooden gulets and sleek sailing yachts that sets the town's rhythm. Most visitors come to swim in hidden coves reachable only by boat, or simply to eat grilled octopus on the waterfront while watching the comings and goings. Beyond the harbour, the town has a compact grid of streets lined with linen boutiques, carpet shops, and open-air restaurants. Despite its polish, Göcek retains a slow, unshowy feel that makes it more of a refuge than a resort. It's also a gateway to the Twelve Islands, the Göcek Archipelago, with countless pine-fringed islets scattered in the Gulf of Fethiye. Hiking trails lead uphill from town to ruined watchtowers and viewpoints where you can look across the bay to the Dalyan Delta on clear days.

To soak up a quieter, more polished side of the Turkish Riviera without giant resorts.
