Çalış is where Fethiye residents actually swim: a wide strip of coarse sand and shallow, warm water backed by a pedestrian promenade. Şovalye and the other islands sit offshore. Summer evenings bring a steady sunset crowd to the cafe terraces; winter is windy but empty and good for a long walk. Water taxis run to the town centre if you do not want the bus loop.

For a local beach with straight-on sunset views over the gulf.

Local tip

Walk south past the dense cafe strip — the shore gets quieter and the water stays shallow for a long way out.

Accessibility

Flat promenade; sand access involves a short slope.
