Blue Cave (Mavi Mağara)
A sea cave where the water glows electric blue from an underwater light opening — reached only by boat from Ölüdeniz.
This is not your average cave. The Blue Cave sits on the northwestern edge of Ölüdeniz lagoon, a small opening in the limestone cliffs that turns the seawater a surreal, luminous blue when the sun hits it just right. Light comes from below — an underwater passage lets in daylight — so the whole cavern feels lit from within. Most boat trips from Ölüdeniz or Fethiye make a 20-minute stop here; you can jump off the boat and swim inside, or just drift on deck and watch the colour shift with the ripples. The cave itself is modest in size, but the water clarity and the intense blue make it feel otherworldly. Go early before the afternoon boats pile up, and on a calm day so the water stays glassy inside.

Book a morning boat trip and sit on the left side of the boat — the cave entrance is on that side and you’ll get the first look before the crowd jumps in.
