Bitez Beach
A long curve of sand in Bodrum’s Bitez Bay, with shallow, clear water and a steady breeze that draws windsurfers and families alike.
Bitez Beach sits in a wide bay just west of Bodrum town. The sand is coarse and the water stays shallow far out, so it works well for kids and non-swimmers. In summer the beach fills with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, backed by a row of low-key cafés and a palm-lined promenade.
The bay gets a reliable afternoon breeze, which makes it one of the better spots on the peninsula for windsurfing and dinghy sailing. Even if you’re not on a board, the breeze takes the edge off the August heat. Mornings are quiet, the sea glassy, and you can walk the entire stretch before the crowds roll in.
Behind the beach, the old village is now a modest suburban neighbourhood, but a few family-run kebab shops and pide places still serve lunch at prices you won’t find closer to the marina.

Grab a sunbed early or come after 4pm — the beach gets packed by noon and the wind for windsurfing only gets reliable after lunch.
The promenade is flat and step-free, but the sand itself has no wheelchair paths and may require assistance.
