Alanya Red Tower
The Red Tower is a 13th-century hexagonal harbour tower in Alanya, now housing a small maritime museum.
The Red Tower (Kızıl Kule) is a 13th-century Seljuk tower built to defend Alanya's harbour. It stands 33 meters tall, with five floors and a distinctive red brick-and-stone exterior. The top floor offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the surrounding city.
The tower now contains a small maritime museum spread across several levels, displaying ship models, naval artifacts, and local diving equipment. The spiral staircase is narrow, so visitors should be prepared for a climb.
Located at the harbour, it's a straightforward stop — expect to spend about 30–45 minutes inside if you read the displays, plus time for the view from the top.
“It's Alanya's defining landmark and offers great harbour views from the top.”
Go on a weekday morning to avoid crowds; the spiral staircase gets cramped after 11am.
No step-free access; 85 steep spiral steps to the top. Not suitable for wheelchairs or those with limited mobility.
