Entry note: Red Tower and castle hill above; boat trips depart for caves and beaches

Alanya Harbour is the living, working waterfront of the city. Fishing boats, tourist gulets, and private yachts share the quays, and the air smells of salt and grilled fish. Boat trips to the nearby pirate caves, Phosphorus Cave, and Cleopatra Beach leave constantly, so there's always a hum of activity.

The promenade curves around the water with cafes and benches facing the peninsula. Walk far enough and you'll pass under the massive Red Tower, then spot the walls climbing the hill to the castle. It's free to wander here and watch the boats come and go, making it a natural stopping point before heading up to the old town or down to the beach.

The main departure point for boat tours and a classic spot to watch sunset behind the castle hill.

Local tip

Come early to see fishermen unloading the night's catch, or book the day's last boat trip for a quieter sunset view on the water.

Accessibility

The main promenade is flat and wheelchair-friendly, though cobblestones and boat gangways can be uneven.
