Günlüklü Bay sits just outside the circus of Ölüdeniz, a tight curve of pebble beach shaded by the sweetgum trees that give the cove its name. The water here is deep, clean, and startlingly clear—you can watch small fish dart around your feet from the wooden jetty. There’s no blasting music, no rows of sunbeds; just a small café that opens when the owner feels like it and a handful of locals who’ve been coming for decades.
The easiest way in is a 20-minute boat hop from Ölüdeniz beach, which lets you skip the parking hassle. If you’re driving, a narrow road winds down from the hill and ends in a dusty clearing, followed by a ten-minute walk along a dirt and stone path—sturdy shoes help. Once you’re settled, the afternoon sun disappears behind the ridge around 4 pm, so morning is prime time for full sun on the water.
