Rahmi M. Koç Museum
A private museum on the Golden Horn covering transport, industry, and communications history. Housed in two connected historic buildings in Hasköy.
The Rahmi M. Koç Museum sits on the northern shore of the Golden Horn in Hasköy, filling two restored historic buildings that once served as an anchor foundry and a shipyard. Founded by the industrialist Rahmi M. Koç in 1991 and opened in 1994, it's a sprawling collection dedicated to the history of transport, industry, and communications.
You'll wander through everything from classic cars and locomotives to vintage aircraft, scientific instruments, and even a submarine moored outside. It's a hands-on place in spots, so kids tend to go wild for it.
Closed Mondays, so plan accordingly. The Golden Horn location means you can reach it by ferry, and the museum's waterfront café is a decent spot to recover from all the walking.
“To see a submarine, classic planes, and vintage cars all in one place—and because the old anchor foundry building is half the fun.”
Go straight to the submarine at opening time—it gets packed by midday, and the queue moves slowly.
