Miniaturk
An open-air park of 1:25 scale models covering Turkey's landmarks, from Hagia Sophia to Mount Nemrut. Kids love it; adults use it as a cheat sheet for the rest of the country.
Miniaturk spreads along the Golden Horn with more than a hundred miniature buildings, bridges, and monuments. The models are detailed enough that you can actually read facades and compare styles side by side, which sounds nerdy but works surprisingly well if you are planning a wider Turkey trip.
It is half museum, half stroll in the park. There is a playground, a small ferry model you can ride, and plenty of benches with Bosphorus views. Go on a clear day; rain makes the paths slick and the photo opportunities disappear fast.
“See half of Turkey in one walk without leaving Istanbul.”
Start at the far end near the cable-car station and walk back toward the entrance; you hit the best Bosphorus viewpoints when you are not tired yet.
Wide paved paths cover most of the site, but some viewing platforms have short stairs.
