Kınalıada
The closest Princes' Island to Istanbul, just a quick ferry hop. A low-key spot for a swim, a walk, or simply sitting by the sea.
Kınalıada is the nearest of the Princes' Islands to the mainland, about 12 km south of Istanbul. With a population of around 2,000, it feels less visited than Büyükada or Heybeliada, making it a good choice for a shorter, more relaxed trip. The island was known as Proti to its Greek residents in the past.
The shoreline is broken by small, mostly pebbly beaches where locals swim in summer. Inland, you can walk through pine-scented streets that climb gently to a hilltop offering views back toward the city. Because the island is compact, you'll see most of it in a few hours.
Ferries run regularly from Kabataş and Bostancı. There are a handful of simple cafés and restaurants near the pier, but the island isn't set up for mass tourism—that's precisely its appeal.
