Emirgan Park
One of Istanbul's largest parks, right on the Bosphorus shore, filled with old trees, winding paths, and a famous tulip display each April.
Emirgan Park sits on the European coast of the Bosphorus in the Emirgan neighbourhood. It’s a vast, historical green space that’s been a public park for over a century. Locals come here for long walks under ancient plane trees, weekend picnics, and to escape the city noise. The park’s real star turn comes in April when millions of tulips bloom in every colour, part of the city’s annual tulip festival. Even outside tulip season, the upper terraces offer calm spots with sweeping views of the water.
“To see millions of tulips in April and enjoy one of the Bosphorus’s largest, greenest escapes.”
Weekends in April are packed; come on a weekday morning to have the tulip beds mostly to yourself.
Bosphorus Sunset Cruise
Two-hour boat ride through the Bosphorus at golden hour — the view most tourists come to Istanbul for.
Main walking paths are wide and paved, but the park has hilly sections that can be challenging for wheelchairs.
