Konyaaltı Beach
Antalya's long pebble beach where the Beydağları mountains meet the sea. Locals come here to swim, play volleyball, and watch the sunset over the water.
Konyaaltı Beach stretches for several kilometres west of Antalya's city centre, backed by a wide promenade and the sharp peaks of the Beydağları range. The shore is a mix of coarse sand and small pebbles, so beach shoes aren't a bad idea. The water deepens quickly, and on windy days the waves can get lively—swim where you see the lifeguard flags.
Evenings are the real draw. Once the afternoon heat fades, the beach park fills with families picnicking on the grass, cyclists, and groups playing backgammon at the cafés. The beach itself is free; you only pay if you want a sunbed and umbrella, and there are plenty of vendors. A well-lit walking and cycling path runs the length of the beach, connecting it to the port and the old town.

Skip the first section near the port—head to Beach Park 7 or 8, where the pebbles are finer and the sea floor drops off less sharply.
