Entry note: Restored Greek house with Ottoman interiors in the old quarter.

The Suna-İnan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum occupies a carefully restored two-story house in the heart of Antalya's historic Kaleiçi district. The building belonged to a Greek family during the late Ottoman period, and its interiors have been arranged to reflect the daily life of an affluent household from that era. Rooms are furnished with traditional seating areas, copperware kitchens, and personal belongings that paint a vivid picture of coexistence in a once-cosmopolitan port city.

The museum is compact but rich in atmosphere. Downstairs, you'll find the main living spaces, while the upper floor holds smaller bedrooms and a display of period costumes and embroideries. Throughout, the focus is on the details of everyday domestic ritual rather than grand historical narratives, making the house feel surprisingly intimate.

Equally compelling is the courtyard garden. Shaded by citrus and palm trees, it offers a cool retreat from the narrow streets of Kaleiçi. A small café operates in the courtyard, open also to non-ticketed visitors, and it’s one of the few spots in the area where you can sit without noise from shops or motorbikes.

To see how an affluent Ottoman-era Greek family lived, inside a house that feels frozen in time.

Local tip

Come on a weekday morning and you'll often have the entire courtyard to yourself; it's a rare moment of silence in Kaleiçi.

Accessibility

Step-free access to the courtyard and ground floor only; the upper floor is reached by stairs without a lift.
