Kaleiçi (Old Town)
The historic heart of Antalya, with ancient walls, narrow alleys, and a harbor that once welcomed Roman ships.
Kaleiçi is where Antalya began. Enclosed by surviving city walls and set above the Mediterranean, this old quarter preserves the original layout of the Roman and Ottoman town. Wandering its streets, you pass restored houses, boutique hotels, and courtyards that have been lived in for centuries. The harbor below, once a busy port, now holds pleasure boats and cafes. Some houses are private or part of hotels, so not all are open to the public. But the real attraction is the maze itself—each turn reveals a vista of sea or stone.
“Experience the original Antalya in a walkable, walled old town by the sea.”
Go early in the morning to enjoy the quiet streets before the crowds and heat arrive.
Narrow cobblestone streets and many stairs; not recommended for wheelchairs.
