Riverside picnic spot where restaurants set tables on platforms in the ice-cold Dim River, which runs 60km from the highlands to the sea.
Locals come here to escape the heat by sitting at tables placed directly in the shallow, fast-flowing water. The Dim River starts in the highlands of Konya Province and travels roughly 60 kilometres before emptying into the Mediterranean near Alanya. Along the picnic area, dozens of family-run restaurants serve grilled fish, köfte, and gözleme while you dangle your feet in water that stays cold even in August. It’s more of a relaxed, open-air dining experience than a typical park, though there are grassy spots for laying out blankets if you prefer a classic picnic. Bring a change of clothes if you plan on wading — the current is gentle but the rocks can be slippery.
