About this venue
Santral Istanbul occupies the magnificently restored Silahtarağa Power Plant, which supplied Istanbul's electricity from 1914 to 1983. Managed by Istanbul Bilgi University, the campus transformed the industrial complex into a cultural centre: the Energy Museum preserves the original turbines and generators, while the surrounding halls host contemporary art exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, and public programs. The campus sits on the Golden Horn waterfront in Eyüp, offering a rare combination of industrial heritage, art, and water views away from the main tourist circuit.
