Sultaniye sits on the edge of Köyceğiz Lake where warm, mineral-rich water bubbles into open-air pools. Visitors coat themselves in sulphurous mud, bake in the sun, then rinse in the thermal baths — a ritual that feels half spa, half school trip, and wholly local. The setting among reeds and mountains is peaceful; combine with a boat day on the lake or a stop after Kaunos.

For a mud-and-thermal bath experience that locals still treat as a day out, not a luxury resort.

Local tip

Bring an old swimsuit — the mud stains — and go mid-week if you want the pools without tour-group timing.
