This is a former Byzantine church, now a mosque, in the Fatih district's Edirnekapı area. What makes it special are the incredibly detailed mosaics and frescoes from the Late Byzantine period that cover its interior. They're some of the best-preserved examples of their kind.
Access can change depending on prayer times and ongoing restoration work, so it's good to be flexible with your plans. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and residential, offering a different pace from the busier historic centers.
