Sapadere Canyon
A narrow canyon with wooden walkways suspended above a rushing stream, about an hour from Alanya. You can swim in icy pools carved into the rock.
Sapadere Canyon is a limestone gorge carved by a cold mountain river, located in the Taurus Mountains near the village of Sapadere. A 750-meter wooden walkway lets you walk deep into the canyon without getting your feet wet. The path ends at a waterfall where you can swim, though the water is very cold even in summer. The canyon floor is shaded by steep walls, so it stays cool. There are small cafes and changing rooms near the entrance. The drive from Alanya or Side takes about an hour, and the road winds through scenic mountain villages.
“For an easy walk through a dramatic gorge, ending in a cold waterfall swim.”
Go by 9am before the tour buses from Alanya and Side arrive; bring water shoes—the wooden walkway gets slippery and the riverbed is rocky.
The wooden walkway is flat but has some steps; not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.
