Çıralı Beach
Long shingle beach lined with citrus groves; a protected nesting site for loggerhead turtles.
Çıralı Beach is a long stretch of pebbles backed by citrus orchards. It's one of the key nesting beaches for Caretta caretta turtles in the Mediterranean. The beach remains relatively undeveloped, with a few small cafes and pensions in the village behind.
The beach is free to access and offers a quiet alternative to the packed sand beaches further west. You can combine a visit with the nearby Olympos ruins and the Chimaera flames that burn from the rocks. The water is clear and good for swimming, but be mindful of the turtle nests marked along the beach from May to October.
“Watch loggerhead turtles nest on a quiet shingle beach with citrus groves behind.”
Arrive at sunrise to spot turtle tracks before the beach gets busy—and wear water shoes for the pebbles.
The beach is covered in smooth pebbles; no wheelchair-accessible path. Not recommended for those with mobility issues.
